Three fizzes to get the season going. As Christmas approaches thoughts increasingly turn to fizz and we have selected some real head turners to get the party started!
Organic Cremant d’Alsace Domaine Deringer, Alsace, France
Cremant is made in the same way as Champagne and comes from different areas of France, in this instance Alsace. Essentially you get a fizz with real character and flavour but more bang for your buck!
Domaine Deringer farm their grapes organically and their Cremant is mainly made from Pinot Blanc. The crisp crushed green appley fruit flavours of this fizz are a delight with notes of freshly buttered toast.
Organic Davenport Limney Estate, England
It’s no surprise that England is now making fizz to rival the best of Champagne. This delightful fizz is a top quality English example from Will Davenport who farms the vineyard in Kent & East Sussex organically. Will’s Pinot Noir dominated fizz is aged for over 3 years on its lees and delivers a barrage of toasty brioche flavours and is simply stunning.
Champagne Beaumont des Crayeres Grande Reserve Brut NV
Not far from Epernay, Beaumont produce probably the best value for money Champagne on the market today. Their Pinot Meunier dominated blend is zinging with fresh fruit flavours all wrapped up in an approachable style.
